We Have to Act Now

Astonishingly, even though the Rusty-Patched Bumble Bee’s population has decreased to less than 20,000, barely any conservation work is being done to bring the species back to it’s original numbers (Have You Seen the Rusty-Patched Bumble Bee, 2002). This is because the Rusty-Patched Bumble Bee has not been declared endangered yet on the IUCN Red List in North America!!! (Xerces society For Invertebrate Conservation, 2001). In fact, this species of bee could be the first bee species to be protected under the United States Endangered Species Act.
